Gifted Education

Minxin School believes that every student is unique and possesses unlimited potential, and that each one can be nurtured to become a leader. Therefore, we are committed to promoting gifted education and leadership training, systematically and purposefully identifying and cultivating exceptionally talented students, and providing them with appropriate educational opportunities. This enables them to fully realise their individual potential through flexible teaching methods and diverse environments.

 

We focus on inspiring students to think critically, fostering creativity, and developing personal and social skills, while both popularising and refining gifted education. Through various subjects, teaching strategies, curricula, assignments, group work, assessments, feedback, extended learning activities, and extracurricular activities, we provide students with a rich array of learning experiences to discover their potential in areas such as creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and leadership.

 

The school adopts a “three-tiered implementation model” to plan and execute school-based gifted education. In the first and second tiers of the whole-school curriculum, we incorporate three key elements of gifted education: higher-order thinking skills, creativity, and personal and social skills. We also offer specialised or interdisciplinary withdrawal programmes for more capable students, as well as specific external training opportunities for particularly gifted students. Consequently, we strive to introduce external resources, including leaders and elites from various sectors, to organise “Celebrity Lectures” and “Masterclasses”, allowing students to gain insights across different fields.

 

The school actively cultivates students’ multiple intelligences and holistic development by hosting internal TED talks, organising domestic and international study tours, global classrooms (including educational exchanges with sister schools or friendly institutions both locally and abroad), comprehensive learning activities, community service, experiential learning activities, advanced courses, foreign language programmes, small team roles in class meetings, Minxin leaders, and other extracurricular activities. This prepares students to become future leaders who serve the nation and benefit society.
